What do you get when you combine a gorgeous vaudeville dancer, a violent clown, a mysterious guest, a scheming best friend, a desperate lesbian, a prize fighter, a showgirl, two incestuous brothers, a hooker, and a minor? It's a WILD PARTY!
The book length poem of the same name was banned in the 1920s for it's scandalous sexual content. But a re-printing in 1994 spawned, not one, but two musical adaptations that played in New York at the same time! Click here to read the Artistic Director's blog on the differences between the two.
It may be air conditioned in the Bartell, but there will be no escaping the heat when it comes to THE WILD PARTY!
Click here for a great page about the show, complete with many links, courtesy of the wonderful New Line Theatre in St. Louis and their Artistic Director Scott Miller!
THE WILD PARTY CONTAINS SEXUAL SITUATIONS, DRUG USE, LANGUAGE AND VIOLENCE. VIEWER DISCRETION IS ADVISED.
