We're working out the details, including a new voting system and some new songs, but here are the basics:

WHAT: Music Theatre Idol is our annual event that allows area singers to compete for the title!

WHO: Anyone 14 or older can enter. Anyone can attend and vote.

HOW IT WORKS: We begin with a preliminary round, where all contestants sing a musical theatre song of their choice a capella. The judges then narrow it down to the top ten. The top ten perform for the audience from a select list of songs. The audience votes for the top three. The top three sing one final song, and the audience votes for the winner.

WHAT DO YOU WIN? We'll let you know the details soon, but in the past contestants have won free tickets to area musicals, gift cards to local retailers, and meals at favorite restaurants. Plus, the title of MUSIC THEATRE IDOL!

HOW DO YOU ENTER? The form will be on this page in March, 2010. You'll simply choose your songs, fill it out, and send it in. Plus, you can definitely register at the door!
